I just recently purchased a Novo Serus J with Novak Open Top Lipstick Humbuckers. Figured i'd offer up some thoughts on it here. It might be useful to start off with a brief rundown of my setup and typical gear. I most often play through Benson amps and my Danocaster Jaguars.

Plays ridiculously well of course, it’s a Novo. Light relic from the factory and looks even more stunning in person! I have two custom Nailing the Serus J vibe would be possible in a partcaster with a custom-built rough pine body/finish (depending on how much of the vibe for you is due to that specific reliced look) and custom pickguard. I got this Novo serus J-HH few weeks ago, HH just meaning dual humbuckers. Besides Lollar Imperials, SS frets hard case and cosmetics everything is what they do offer as standard option. The colour is sherwood green fade and I've been gassing guitar with that few years after seeing one they did make.
